FOOD MATTERS FOR OUR SENIOR LOVED ONE'S

Be aware of what your parents are eating when they live alone. I find myself assisting my Mom the same way that I helped my Dad and Grandparents. When our parents or loved one's live alone they tend to not eat. It is a published fact that when a senior is living alone they will not eat or drink much. Some tips to help you make sure your parents are full of nutrition and engaged:

  • Make sure they have someone close that can check on them a couple of times a day.

  • Set up a Support Group from friends and family to keep an eye on them.

  • Make sure they are regulating their water- Our bodies MUST HAVE water to survive

  • Assist with preparint FRESH meals in the home.

  • Cut down on processed, frozen, sugar and sweets.

  • Get them if possible to go outside for a short walk or sit outside in the sunlight.

It is so important to remain actively engaged in your parents health and care. If you are not able to help monitor their needs due to your own family schedule or you live out of the area. Please contact us for more information and local resources to assist.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015- We are here to make sure our Elder Population is LOVED!
